 Day 12 Aug 1, 2024

Slept in this AM. Gerry went down the elevator as we are on the 7th floor to get our bag breakfast to go.  Not bad I had in my bag apple juice, yogurt, apple and a banana muffin. Gerry's bag had apple juice, yogurt, apple and an egg/ham muffin. Actually not a bad breakfast. got on our way heading south. We took Highway 881. Got fuel at Conklin and then again in Lach La Bish. Also had a bowl of chilli at Tim Hortons. Got to Vermillion about 4 PM, Got checked at the Days Inn, then Gerry went to find a car wash as the bike is plastered with bugs.

We were very surprised to see so much action in the north country. Like humungous sites and so many camps full of bunk houses and lots of people everywhere working.  And the highways have truck after truck going in both directions.  No wonder the north country is where it's at if you want to make money.

Never seen so many large fields of hay bails.  Like perfect crops so far this year.  So as long as the hail stays away, they'll have it made.

 Day 7 June 28, 2024

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GERRY (81)

Got up to some sunshine & clouds. After checking out we went back to Legend's for breakfast.  Got fuel then headed east in the drizzle on & off and a cold north wind. Traffic heading west has been bumper to bumper all the way going west.  At Canmore we took the HWY 1A and at Cochrane we headed north to Olds to get on to the QE2.  Turned off at Gasoline Alley in Red Deer and took the back way home.  Got home at 2:30 PM.  A very cold ride home.  Went for supper to the Roaster as the hotel's new cafe was having a water problem.

We put on 2800 KM (1740 M)

 Day 6 June 27, 2024

Got away from Ron's and parting ways after breakfast at Denny's in Kamloops. We stopped at the motorcycle museum east of Kamloops. Had some lunch there (a very large cookie)

We then headed for Golden for the night and stayed at the Swiss Village Motel.  Got there in the rain. There was road construction west of Golden and the line of cars was at least 10 miles long waiting to go west and it was drizzling so felt sorry for the bikers heading west and having to sit in the rain and wait their turn to go.

We had a very good burger & milk shake at the Legends Restaurant (a 50's cafe).  It rained on & off all night.
