 Day 4

Sept 12, 2022

Up around 7 AM &checked out of motel and headed to Humpty House for breakfast & fuel.  Then it was non stop up highway QE2 and got to Lacombe about noon.  Got fuel, then to grocery store for a chicken & some salads so we won't have to cook for a few days.

We put on 1700 KM (1060 miles) Had cool weather and so much smoke we did not get very good pictures, but we enjoyed the trip anyway.

 Day 3

Sept 11, 2022

Had a good nights sleep. Very quiet place. Up and on the road just before 8 AM and on our way to Nakusp for breakfast.  Had breakfast at a Bistro called Hans & Jill's. awesome food but expensive, but worth every penny. Got fuel on way out of town. Most expensive so far. $208.9/litre.

Went Castlegar way and thought that we would spend the night in Blairmore, but got there so early we decided to head up Hwy 22 to Chain Lakes and then take the road east to Nanton for the night.  Got room at the Ranchland motel. Cheapest one yet. Only $98.10. Got checked in and then went to Humptys for supper around 7PM.

 Day 2

Sept 10, 2022

Up early and only +3 C so we got over to the Husky House for breakfast by 8 AM our time, but when we headed west we forgot about the time change, so we got to our meeting place an hour too early and had to wait for Ron to ride in from Kamloops. We stopped in Revelstoke for a hot chocolate and to warm up. By the tine we left the A&W in Revelstoke it was +17C.  We met up with Ron in Sicamous for lunch and a good visit.  We had not seen him since 2017.  

After lunch we headed towards Vernon and then east to Fauquier to the Arrow Lake Motel, An awesome motel and way cheaper than the one in Golden.  When we booked we were told to bring food as a restaurant would be 45 minutes away.  We had to cross the ferry and only had to wait maybe 3 minutes.

 Day 1

Sept 9, 2022

Got on the road by 10 AM.  Cold riding. Stopped before Rocky to put more jackets on.  Once we got to Sask Crossing the weather started to get better.  By the tine we got to Golden it was plus 22.  Got checked into the Rondo Motel and sat in the sun to warm up before going to Husky House for a roast beef dinner.  Back to motel for the night.

 Day 4 August 29, 2022

Up fairly early and got checked out of motel.  Went to Princess Auto to check something out. Headed to Ben & Donna Walter Farms office on the north side. Had a visit and talked with Ben on the phone and also was given some pens & note books.  From there we went to the casino for breakfast where we met up with Harvey, Gloria, Jim & Judy.  We visited till noon and the we headed for home.  A quick stop in Three Hills for fuel and then to the IGA for a rotisserie chicken & salads so we don't have to cook when we get home. We put on 1275 KM (795 miles) on this adventure.

 Day 3 August 28, 2022

It rained all night but by the time we left the motel for breakfast it was dry & cold. 13 for breakfast.  We left Smitty's and headed  for fuel and to meet up with more bikers for Rex's Memorial ride  at the Co-Op gas bar before heading east & north to the Hays Maze.  Stopped for a break at Hays before going north then west to Picture Butte for an awesome lunch at the Cattleman's Chop House.  Then it was back to Lethbridge where everyone went there separate ways.  Gerry & I went to the old Brewery Gardens to get pictures and met a guy traveling from Ontario who was trying to find a monument in Lethbridge.  His Dad had been part of this group in World War 2, so we had him follow us to the Information Centre and there was the memorial rock & plaque. We then directed him on his way to Shelby Montana. Afterwards we went over to the west side and visited with Bob & Deb for a couple of hours.  Back to motel by 6:30 then walked to the DQ for a sundae. The cat is Deb's.

 Day 2 August 27, 2022

Up and on our way to Honkers for breakfast before 60+ bikes headed for the toy parade around Lethbridge.  Then 30+ bikes headed out on a poker run.  We stopped at Mountain View, Twin Butte, Pincher Creek and then back to Honkers in Lethbridge for the final card before we all had either the Taco smorg or off the menu.  Gerry & I won A shampoo Kit and micro cloths, $20 gift certificate for Smitty's and DQ certificate for two blizzards.  Back to motel by 7:30ish

 Day 1 August 26, 2022

Up and on the road by 10 AM. Stopped in Vulcan for a root beer at the A & W. Black clouds started to appear about Barons so we were glad when the road started heading east.  We out ran the rain, this time. LOL.

Got to our Motel 6, check in, made a few calls, then Dallas picked us up and off to Legends for supper with Harvey, Gloria, Mike & Shannon. After Dallas dropped us off at Motel we walked next door to the DQ for a small sundae before retiring for the night.

 Day 5 July 30, 2022

Up bright & early in Kindersley SK this AM as the clouds were not looking good.  Had our breakfast at motel and then headed west & north for home.  Stopped in Castor to see Jim & Julie's  and talked with Jim's son Sean who told us that Jim & Julie had been moved to Edmonton into a home. So we headed for the Whistle Stop for lunch before heading for home.  Home @ 1:30 PM.  We put on 2320 K (1442 Miles).  Only got about 40 rain drops on us west of Kindersley.  So it was an awesome trip and got to visit with 7 of our biking friends and a couple of our trucker friends that have just hung up their class 1 license.

 Day 4 July 28, 2022

Since no one in Sask seems to have wifi we are behind in posting,  After a good nights sleep we headed to Barry & Janice's place at Nickle Lake for breakfast .  Once again we ate too much. 


After breakfast we headed for Moose  Jaw for fuel.  We went to Brownlee to see Gerry's old neighbor from Clive only to find out she has moved, so we ended up in Kindersley for the night Today we put in 5 1/2 hours in the saddle  with temperature at +36 degrees C (97 F) at one point. Got a room at the Super 8

 Day 2 July 27, 2022

After  breakfast at the motel we headed NE out of Warman & got to Ron & Kat's place in Tisdale in time for an awesome lunch of ham, potato salad & local wild rice. Ron is a retired fire chief from LaRonge and Kat is an artist. She also made a doll house and I will show you guys a few pictures








After lunch we headed south. Kat rode behind Gerry for about 10 miles to see if she would like riding
on a trike, while I rode in car with Ron

We then headed for Roncanville for the night at Roger & Linda's. They put on an excellent fresh fresh dinner from one of three local lakes  Next morning after flap jacks, sausage, etc we put our stuffed bodies on the bike & headed for Weyburn to Barry & Janice's place for the night. We slept in their condo as they were camped at the lake for the summer.  They are our trucker friends that have hung up there class 1 license.

 DAY 1 Tuesday July 25, 2002

Got up bright & early and was headed out of town by 9:10 AM.  We went east & north then more east till we got to Warman SK.  Got to Darlene's and visited for a while then went for supper at an Italian Restaurant. Very good food. After supper we checked into the Days Inn for the night, then it was back to Darlene's for a very good visit. Back to our room by 9 pm.



We put on 540 KM (335 miles)

 Day 6 June 29, 2022

We went once again to the Casino for breakfast (8 of us today) Then it was off to Bridge City Dodge to see Dallas, Clarence & Sheldon for a short visit before we headed to Milk River to see Olwen for an early supper.  From there we headed north towards Brooks for the night. We ran into rain and some hail on the road.  It rained almost all night.

Day 7 June 30, 2022

We wanted to have breakfast in Brooks at the truck stop but the restaurant was not open till 8 AM so we headed north to Cactus Junction about 1 1/2 hrs north.  Then we ended up at Jim & Julie's in Castor.  Gerry mowed their lawn as they both have had strokes over the years.

We stopped in Stettler for a few groceries on way home & got home about 3 PM.  Just enough time for Gerry to mow our lawn before the rain started.

Day 8 July 1, 2022

Up early and after breakfast we headed for Breton for the parade.  Gerry did not get to see as many class mates this year as between old age & people have moved to care centers he only got to visit with a couple of them.




We put on 680 miles (1095 KM), had great sunshine & warm weather, some rain & had an awesome visit with all our southern Alberta friends.

Happy Birthday to Gerry (79)

We started the day off by going back to the casino for breakfast with Harvey & Paul joined us. We visited till almost time to meet Linda at the Brew House.  We got to sit on the roof for lunch.  Had another great visit and more food of course.

We came back to the motel & got ready to go to the Tower for supper. Dallas, Mike & Shannon, Harvey & Gloria joined us for Gerry's 79th 





There had been a bit of a rain storm but they allowed us to go outside to walk on the cat walk.
When we left Gerry & I drove down town to see what all had changed in the almost 9 years since I moved away.
Back to motel just after 8 PM.

 Day 4 June 27, 2022

Today started off with meeting Harvey for breakfast at the casino. On the way to casino we dropped off a package to Bruce's old place of employment. We went to the Japanese Gardens and toured around there for an hour or so.






After this we went over to Harvey & Gloria's for an afternoon of visit till it was time to head east towards Coaldale.  Stopped in at Sideline Motorcycles to say hi to Tim before we went to James & Chris's for an awesome dinner of wild meat (white tail deer).  We had another great visit.



James is a hunter & also a shed collector. Here is a picture of one that was caught & released from the Old Man River.  These fish come from the Diefenbaker Lake in Saskatchewan.

We were back to the motel by 8 PM. another fun filled day.

 Day 1 Friday June 24, 2022

Very cloudy skies and spitting a bit but we still took off for the south country.  Got to Three Hills and discovered that Gerry has forgot his wallet at home, so I guess he won't be spending any money on this trip. LOL  Got into Vulcan and checked into our motel for a couple of nights.  Dropped off our luggage then headed for Kirkcaldy for the rally site.  14 for supper. Back to motel by 9ish.  Still cloudy.


Day 2 Saturday June 25, 2022

Up early and back to rally site for the day. More people showed up. After breakfast some people went into Vulcan, some went shopping, some stayed back and played pool and wandered around Marg & Rick's updated yard.  They have done a pile of work.  The three amigos rom Lethbridge showed up for supper and a good visit.  Door prizes & 50/50 draw. Carole F won $52.50.  Back to motel around 9ish again





Day 3 Sunday June 26, 2022

Back to Kirkcaldy for breakfast.  Three amigos showed up as well as some guys from Calgary.  After a bit of visiting we got a group picture taken then everyone started to pull out.

Gerry & I headed for motel 6 in Lethbridge.  Stopped in at Debs place and got to see 1 few people we had not seen in years.

After we got checked into our room we went to Bob & Kathy's for an awesome supper.  Back to motel by 8:30
