 Day 4 August 9, 2021

A good looking day so we decided to continue our trip.  Left home and headed towards Frog Lake in NE Alberta.

Also did the walking tour of the original site. Afterwards we went south to Lloydminister for the night.

On our way south we crossed the North Saskatchewan River

River so wide it has 5 spans across it.

Day 5 August 10, 2021

Up and headed SE towards Warman, Sask to Darlene's place. Darlene is an ole biker friend who is now 84.  Took her out for supper to Thomas the Cook Restaurant and had a very good meal & service. Got back to house and continued our visiting till bed time.  Sorry no Pictures. (not sue why we have the camera phone as we are always forgetting to take pictures.)

Day 6 August 11, 2021

Up and on our way after breakfast and headed for Medicine Hat.  The wind was horrible all the way.
Got checked into motel and went to Ralph's across the street for supper.  Awesome food.

Day 7 August 12, 2021

After breakfast we loaded up & headed for Ivan & Wendy's Harley shop and a visit for a while before we headed up HWY 41 to Consort, where we stopped for a bowl of soup & sandwich for lunch.  Back on the road and a short visit in Castor with Jim & Julie and of course an awesome piece of pie.
Home at 4:30 PM

The second half of our trip was 1780 KM (1110 Miles)
A very good trip except for a couple of really windy days.

 Day 2 Aug 4,2021

This was at Marg's place in Kirkkaldy yesterday

We started the day with a small tour of Anne's old house.  Saw my old cat/house sitter for 5 minutes. Then it was off to the casino where we met up with Harvey for breakfast.  After breakfast we headed to Olwen's place in Milk River for the nite. Stopped at the information center.
For supper we went to the chinese restaurant.  It started to rain before we got back to Olwen's place.
Had thunder, lightening and rain pretty much for most of the night.

The forecast for where we were going did not look that good.  So with no leathers packed we decided to head for home till the weather system moves away. Stopped at the Whistle Stop in Mirror for an early supper before heading to Red Deer Lake to see Leonard's new trailer before heading home. Home by 5:30.  If weather is better tomorrow or Saturday we will continue on our vacation to Saskatchewan.

 Day 1 Aug 3, 2021

We left home about a quarter to 10 and headed east to Highway 21.  Then it was south to the Trans Canada Hwy.  We stopped in Three Hills for fuel.  Got to Marg's in Kirkcaldy about 1 PM for an awesome lunch & desert.  After lunch we headed for Lethbridge to the Motel 6 and got checked in.  Ben Walter was at the DQ and saw the bike and said to himself that Anne & Gerry must be in town so he dropped over to the motel and we had a good visit.  We then walked over to the DQ (about 100 yards from room) where we met up with 17 of our friends for an awesome visit. Then Harvey came to see the bike and after he left we went for 2 long block walk & back.  No pictures today.

 July 7, 2021 Day 3

After breakfast we headed north towards NWT border.  Along the way we saw tree damage due to a bad storm they had a few days ago.  Lots of trees down and lots broken half way up.  Pulled into Meandering River for fuel only to find out that they have no power so everything was closed down so without fueling up we would not make the next stop, so we headed back to High Level.  We were also going to go to Rainbow Lake and were told that the road was washed out in three places.  So much for the north country so we checked out of motel and headed SE towards home. At least half of the people up there are stilled masked up and scared of everyone.

Went thru Peace River and got to go over the new bridge they were building last year when we were in the Peace. Headed east on Hwy 2 till the turn off for Swan Hills.  Road was good for the first 10 miles and the last 5 miles.  My back is so sore from all the horrible road I think that my body is 2 inches shorter in the back than this morning. LOL.

Got to Swan Hills and their roads are no better.  Got checked into the only motel we could find.  Nice Chinese restaurant just in the parking lot.  Awesome food.  Will go there for breakfast in the morning.

We traveled 715 KM (445M) today. It was +30 at one point.

No pictures today.  Will be home tomorrow and will add them in then.

 July 6, 2021 Day 2

Up & checked out of Holiday Inn and headed north.  Stopped at an awesome truck stop that had regular old fashioned food and also got fuel.

Headed north & west. Stopped in Fort Vermillion for fuel & some pictures.  Not a very big place.

Got into High Level after 3PM & checked into the EconoLodge for 2 nites. Will be doing some touring of the area tomorrow. Today we put on 500 KM (300 M).  The roads were very good till west of Ft Vermillion.  30 K of really rough pavement.  The ride was good but the scenery was boring.  The signs say to watch for deer, moose & buffalo but other than the signs we saw only the rear end of one deer going into the bush. LOL

|That's it for today.

 Monday July 5, 2021  Day 1

We headed out this morning at 10 minutes to 10 and took the 2A to Wetaskwin so we could stop at Mark's for Gerry to get his new shoes, sandals and 2 pairs of walking shorts. From there we headed west and north thru Devin and had to go on Hwy 16 west a ways before heading north to Smith AB.  We met up with Myrna & Louis who live just outside of Smith.  Myrna & I worked together at Jet Air in the 90's.  Had an awesome visit catching up on 48 years since we had seen each other.

We left the dinner place and headed towards the Athabaska River which seemed high before we turned around and headed to Hwy 2 for Slave Lake.  Got checked into Holiday Inn.  Almost everyone we saw today were masked up. Got settled in & walked a block down the street to DQ for a caramel sundae.

That's all folks till tomorrow.

 Wednesday  June 30, 2021

Hotter than Hades again today but we are still planning on heading north on Monday if it is not raining. LOL.  The weather is suppose to be in the high 20,s so we can handle that.

Tonight we went into Lacombe for bike nite.  Not many there.  Too hot.

Gerry got oil changed on bike so we are ready to rock n roll.
