Day 14 July 31, 2019
After a bowl of cereal we headed back into Greely to the miniature railroads museum.  we spent 3 hours there.  |It was amazing to see the town of Klamath Falls, Oregon in mini form. We had a personal guide and we were able to go behind the scenes. It is so hard to believe how complicated running 60 trains can be. The detain has to be scene in person to appreciate it. Pictures unable to post.

Then it was off to Strasburg KOA for the night.  It was not fun as our GPS took us almost down town Denver.  95 degrees above. Stop & go traffic for 2 hours. Stopped and asked for directions and found out that we were only about 3 miles out of our way but in grid lock.  We have a perfect camp site with shade and now one heck of a storm coming in over us right now.  Was walking around the grounds and met up with Ben & Donna Walter Farms combining crew in the camp ground.  Had not seen Gerald & Shelly since 2008.  I used to work for Gerald's Dad for 23 years in Lethbridge. What are the chances of that?

Day 13 July 30, 2019
After breakfast at camp we headed to Greely for the model train museum.  Only one sign saying which direction to go.  Could not find it, so off to city hall to get directions, then off to the chamber of commerce only to find out the museum is across the street, but not open on Mondays.  So we headed back towards Lovell and found a beautiful campsite which had been full last night.  Got in this morning and taking it easy till tomorrow.  Will be going to Walmart for groceries and then to supper. no pictures today.
Day 12 July 29, 2019

We did the Wyoming State Prison tour which was very impressive before heading south
this the hanging device trap door is at the top
Anne sitting in the gas chamber
Gerry getting his jail picture taken before getting a number LOL

We took a wrong turn once we got to Colorado and went south too far so had to take another road which turned out to be an awesome trip over the Rocky Mountains Pass.  But it consumed 3 extra hours but worth it.
At one point on the pass we were at the 12,928 foot level
waterfall on pass
snow on mountains all around us & cool
There was snow way below the road we were on, and way above the tree line.
After all this we spent a couple of hours looking for a camp site, which turned out to be all full till we found the Boyd State Park.  Had to be a genius to get registered as nobody seems to work in Colorado after 4 PM.  Every thing is done on line.  We set up in a site and waited for the ranger to come after 9 PM and she even had trouble getting us registered, but 40 minutes later we were legally parked.

Day 11 July 28, 2019

Up early because of trains going by. Got on the first tour of the day at the dinosaur museum.  Was up at one of the digs.  Very interesting tour.  Then we headed for Rawlins, WY for the night.  Camped at Western Hills Campground, and the wind never stops.  Of course we are out in the open as there are no trees.

Lunch in Cody
We then headed south towards Thermopolis. It looked like rain so we stopped to put leathers on.  Gerry kind of forgot to put my cane back in the bike, so when we got to camp ground, no cane.  He preceded to go back to look for it at the pull over while I set up camp. Wanted to buy a new one anyway some day. LOL

The wind was gale force from the west.
Dallas came and picked us up and we met up with Mike & Shannon for supper at Moca Cabana. After Dallas dropp3ed us off we went for a ride to see my old house, then stopped in to see Linda G for an hour.  She was shocked to see us.

Day 1 July 18, 2019

June 28 - July 1, 2019

On the road again.  We left Friday (Gerry's birthday) and got as far as Cranbrook, BC.  Got set up at the camp ground and then headed for the ABC Restaurant for Gerry's birthday dinner.  After he had a very large supper of Fish & Chips, the waitress says that he can have anything on the desert menu.  He picked out a rhubarb crisp and all he wanted was a small one.  But the waitress says that he should go all out and have a big one.  So the crisp showed up was big enough to feed at least 6 of us, and there was at least a half gallon of ice cream on it.  So now he is extra full and says that we will never have to eat again. LOL
Next morning after a small breakfast we took the ferry across the Kootnay Lake and headed for Toad Rock.  Lots of bikes there already.  We were group camping in what they call the goat pen.  Fairly close to the washrooms.  Saturday night we all chipped in for supper with tons of food. Roast pork, chicken, lots of salads, etc.  10 of us enjoyed the food.

Saw Gerry's CVO go by, so went looking for it and we did find Harvey and a small group from Lethbridge. Everyone in our group decided to head out on Sunday so later Gerry & I also broke camp and headed for the ferry for the ride back to Creston.

Got as far as Nanton, AB for the nite to a very nice campground.  Came home yesterday and made it about 1 hour before a storm hit.
