Day 16

We left Cheap Shots after breakfast and was headed for the Canadian border by 11:30 AM.  We rode to Cranbrook and since none of the friends that live there was home, we got a camp site at the Mount Baker RV Park in down town Cranbrook. Had supper at the Denny's.  Took a walk around the local park and got a couple of pictures with my phone.  Now if I can ever get them to down load onto my lap top, then I will have pictures of a very large tree for everyone to see.

Day 17

Got up extra early (like at 6 AM). Everything was damp, so will need to dry out once we get home.  Came up through Radium Hot Springs.  The line up going west at the Banff Park Gates was lined up back to Canmore.  All 5 lanes including the through traffic lane was all at a stand still.  Thousands of people going to the Park today.Thank goodness we were going east. Stopped in Red Deer for some groceries and then got home about 5:30 PM.  Got the trailer unloaded and set it up to dry out while we had some supper.

We put on 4444 KM or 2765 milles. Had a great time and the weather was superb.

We broke camp, had a big breakfast, then we hit the road with Art. We traveled thru Salem & Portland before heading east on I 84 which took us on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge. We hit Kenewick , WA during the busiest part of the day.  Got into Spokane at afternoon rush hour. We were blessed with a 60 mile an hour tail wind.   We had just missed a major rain hail storm that went thru Spokane. Streets were still wet.  We got to Cheap Shot at 5:30 PM. Shannon come and picked us up and went to the Boston Pizza for supper.  Then back to the bar for our bikes before heading up to the house for the night.
We took no pictures today. Tomorrow we will head for home and will take 2 days to do so.

Got to the camp ground about 3 PM ish and got set up. Lots of people there already.

On Monday we went for a tour and got the bikes dirty from 10 minutes of rain, so Gerry was PO'd as he has spent hours cleaning them up.

Today, Tuesday we went to see the Spruce Goose at the Evergreen Aviation  & Space Museum in McMinnville, OR

Tomorrow we plan on going to the ocean for a seafood lunch. Gerry is planning on getting the bikes cleaned up for the ride. We are praying for no rain. LOL

After a great breakfast at the KOA we headed south towards Redmond.  Stopped at Sister's Oregon and saw at least 125 old vehicles. Afterwards we headed into my cousin Coleen Maginel/Richards/Schaefer where we are staying for the nite.  Joe did a BBQ of smokies while Coleen did up all the salads.
What a gorgeous ride today.

Gerry & I got split up while going to Joe & Coleen's, but Gerry arrived about 4 minutes later.

We spent the night in Ellensberg at the KOA. Took no pictures today

Day 8

Started the day by having breakfast at the IHOP, then o the road. Got 2 miles down the road and Gerry's bike broke down on the side of the highway. Fuel line.  So tow truck trailered the bike to Yakima HD. $439.00 later to find out that HD replaced a fuel line clamp in the tank and we then we were off heading south. Stopped for the night at Central Oregon KOA. Got there in time for the ice cream social.
So for a $1.65 part & $88.00 labor, we were off and on the road again.
Beautiful riding today. We must have went over 8 or 9 passes on our travels. Tomorrow we will be at the cousins in the early afternoon.
I never knew that it was soooooo windy in Oregon.  It Is even windier than Lethbridge, would you believe.

Day 6

Today was an interesting ride.  I rode behind Gerry through some twisties on Hwy 33 for about 6 miles.  He did not like the way it corners as he felt out of control.  I think that he is just toooooo used to leaning on the corners. Back into town and off to the HD store & bought a chrome license plate frame for the trike.  He cannot put it on the bike till after we get home as he needs to fine tune the part. Then it was off to the mall to shop till we dropped.  We also picked up KFC for supper. We saw some old iron today.

Tomorrow we cross the border & head south Ellensburg, WA where we are booked into the KOA.

Day 4

After an awesome waffle breakfast at Theresa's we headed across town to where Ron works part time and was able to have a visit for about 1/2 hour.  Then we headed down Highway 97 to Vernon then Kelowna. Got to Ellen's about 3 PM.  After supper at the Spaghetti Factory Gerry & I went to Tara, Ralph's & Jackson's place for evening tea. Gerry was riding shotgun.

Day 5

Laundry day today.  Gerry & Ellen were in charge of bacon & eggs with Ellen's new frying pan this morning. Then for lunch we met up with Clifford at the Dairy Queen and his sister Pat who just flew in from Taber.  Had a very good visit.

Back to Ellen's where Gerry tried to fix the tape player but to no avail.  Marion & our friend Vera picked us up for supper and we went to the Chinese Pear Smorg.  Very good visit & food. Marion & I have been good friends for 49 1/2 years. Gerry was so hard done by, as he was looking after four women tonight.

Tomorrow will be our shopping day at the HD store and the bike store next door.
I might add that my new Baby Blue is the perfect bike for me now that my knees keep telling me that I am getting older.  The rain that we have traveled thru did not fizz on me, not like to soft tail where I was always getting wet and cranky. LOL

Day 3

After breaking camp we went to the Denny's for breakfast. My bike was a very big attraction to a bus load of Japanese tourists.  Many pictures were taken of us and the bikes.  Then off to Walmart before heading to Theresa's place in Pine View Valley in the SW corner of Kamloops.  My friend Susan came over for a visit.  Then Theresa, her sister Sandra & Ron and us all went over to Jackie & Dave's place for a pool party & BBQ. Jackie is Theresa's daughter.

I might add, we are camped in the garage so if it rains we won't care. LOL
